Best Low Float Trade-Ups in CS2 (August 2026)

Low float trade-ups are where the real money is. The same output skin can be worth three or four times more in Factory New than in Field-Tested, and the only thing that decides which one you get is the average float of your ten inputs. Every contract below is currently predicted to produce a Minimal Wear or better output.

Key takeaways

  • Lowest predicted output float in this round-up: 0.0400.
  • Every contract here lands Minimal Wear or better (float under 0.15) on its most likely outcome.
  • Best return on investment: 13%, from $195.92 upwards.
  • Output float is the average of your ten input floats scaled into the output skin's own float range, so low-float inputs are the whole game.

How output float is calculated

Each input is first normalised inside its own float range:

normalised = (input float − skin minimum float) ÷ (skin maximum float − skin minimum float)

Those normalised values are averaged, then mapped into the output skin's float range:

output float = average × output float range + output minimum float

The practical consequence is that a skin with a restricted float range is a cheat code. An input whose float range starts at 0.25 normalises to 0.00 when you buy it at 0.25, even though 0.25 looks like a Field-Tested float. That is how the cheapest Factory New trade-ups are built.

CS2 float value to condition mapping
ConditionFloat rangeWhy it matters for trade-ups
Factory New0.00 – 0.07Highest price by a wide margin. Needs a very low average input float.
Minimal Wear0.07 – 0.15The realistic target for most contracts and still a big price premium.
Field-Tested0.15 – 0.38Where most trade-ups land by default. Cheap inputs, cheap outputs.
Well-Worn0.38 – 0.45Usually only worth targeting on skins with restricted float ranges.
Battle-Scarred0.45 – 1.00Occasionally valuable on skins where BS is the rarest wear.

Finding low float inputs

Steam's market does not let you filter by float, which is why float hunting happens on third-party sites. CSFloat lets you search a precise float range and is the fastest way to assemble a low-float contract; Tradeit.gg is better when you need ten copies of the same cheap skin quickly.

Once you have candidates, drop them into the CS2 trade-up calculator — it shows the predicted output float and condition live as you change each input.

Where to buy the input skins

Input prices decide whether a contract is profitable, so it is worth checking two or three marketplaces before you buy. Tradeit.gg is the fastest for bulk buying cheap inputs, CSFloat is the best place to hunt a specific float, and Skinport usually wins on fees when you sell the output.

Frequently asked questions

What is a low float trade-up in CS2?

A contract built from inputs with low float values so the output lands in a better condition. Because the output float is the average of the inputs scaled into the output's range, ten low-float inputs produce a low-float output, which is usually worth substantially more.

Can you get Factory New from a trade-up?

Yes. You need an average normalised input float low enough that it maps below 0.07 in the output's float range. The best contract on this page is currently predicted to produce a 0.0400 float output. Skins whose float range does not start at 0.00 make this much easier.

Do low float inputs cost more?

Usually, but not always proportionally. The float premium is priced aggressively on popular skins and barely at all on cheap ones, and that gap is exactly where low-float trade-up profit comes from.

Does StatTrak change the float maths?

No. StatTrak inputs must be matched with StatTrak inputs and produce a StatTrak output, but the float calculation is identical.
